Nazima-e-A`ala: Shakoora Aftab (Punjab)

21st September 1969__ sun rose promising a revolutionary day in history of Pakistan when some brilliant students founded a countrywide organization "Islami Jamiat Talibat Pakistan" to fulfill the demands of revivalism of Islam & creation of Pakistan.

Shakoora Aftab was elected the first president (Nazima-e-A`ala) and Sumayyah Fatima was allocated as secretary general.

Important events
  • Constitution was edited and the insignia was designed.
  • Synoptic framework was set to work properly for Islamic Educational system and establishment of women university.
  • First Annual meeting was held in September 69 in Multan.

    Nazima-e-A`ala: Shakoora Aftab (Punjab)

    There was commotion throughout the country or the sentence may be (in history of Pakistan this period was full of disasters). Naturally the education institutes were influenced by different political codes.

    Islami Jamiat Talibat though indirectly participated in the struggle for the Islamic system.


    Important Events
    • IJT worked strenuously to organize its activities.
    • Study courses were arranged to develop standardized upgrading for the member all over the Pakistan.
    • Report System was introduced.  
    • At the same time the work was established in the East Pakistan region.
    • Islamic Education System Week was celebrated. 
    • The "Islamic System" number for the Pegham-e-sahar magazine was published.  
    • Second Annual meeting was held in1971 in Multan.

    Nazima-e-A`ala: Zakia Fatima(Punjab) 

    Important events
    • Pukar magazine was published on the central/Organizational level. 
    • IJT gained success in college unions' elections.
    • Mean while tragic event of separation between east and West Pakistan occurred.
    • Ignoring the national interests, fallacious arguments on security risk were made by the government, convincing people to accept Bangladesh.
    • IJT participated to intercept intrigue by Bangladesh Namanzoor (not accept Bangladesh) movement.
    • Annual meeting was put off in 1972 due to insecure situations.

    Nazima-e-A`ala: Zakia Fatima(Punjab) 

    Important events

    • Training camps for the members were organized in the provinces and at the local level.
    • Memorizing the Badar Contest, IJT observed Badar Day to raise the spirit of Jehad.
    • IJT celebrated the Independence Day cordially, realizing the need to develop awareness of duties regarding independence, among the students.
    • Third annual meeting was held in April 73
    • And the forth-annual meeting was held in the last of the same year.

    Nazima-e-A`ala: Yasmeen Hameed(Punjab)

    Important events

    • Motto of this session was

      1. To convey the message of Islam to all the girl students.
      2. To provide the best means of guidance to the members of IJT
      3. To unite the ex-members and provide them means to keep up the efforts for Islam continuously.

    • Jamiat-e-Talibat observed the campaign "Rabta Muhim" to reach people and convince them to adapt solemn and decent teaching of Islam instead of noxious means (lahw al hadith).
    • Pukar published "Istaqlal-e-pakistan" number to give people right concept of resolute Pakistan and to make them think about civil and political prevail and independence.

    Nazima-e-A`ala: Yasmeen Hameed(Punjab)

    To convey the message and to give the right concept about the different events following days were observed:

  •  Yom-e-Imam Hussain.
  •  Hassan-ul-banna.
  •  Shah Faisal.
  •  Dr. Nazir Shaheed.
  • Important events

    The following activities were organized for the benefit of girl students.

  • Relief fund for deserving students.
  • Establishment of Lending library.
  • Prevention of fooling.
  • Solving different academic problems.
  • First printed product "Mizaan-e-Muhabbat" came into view.
  • Sixth annual meeting was held in January 1976.

    Important events

  • Central department of international relations was founded.
  • To enhance the Muslim unity.
  • To concord Islamic powers at international level.
  • To strengthen the links with the foreign organizations of women.
  • "Ikhwat ul Jamiat” was established to organize the ex-members.
  • 7th annual meeting was held in December 1976.

    Important events

    • New methodic strategy was made to extend the message of IJT.
    • Classes were started to prepare them for this purpose called classes of "karkun sazi".
    • Local bodies were strengthened.
    • 8th annul meeting was held at Lahore.

    Important events

    • Central book store was established.
    • Realizing the need of study of Quran, “Tafheem-ul-Quran campaign’’ was observed.
    • During this campaign a detailed circular was issued.
    • Tafheem ul Qur’aan special fund was established to provide the “Tafheem ul Quran” sets as much as possible.
    • Markaz received 270 oaths (Ehadnama) to study Tafheem ul Qur’aan daily.
    • Three special meetings of active members (arkaan) were arranged.

    Important events

    • Writing competition among the members on the topic “My feelings about Allah” was held on central level.
    • The active members were given a monthly course for learning.
    • Umeedwar-e–Rukniyat were given under the charge of Markaz directly.
    • 10th annual meeting was held at Lahore.

    Important events

    • Collection of essay named “My feelings about Allah” and of central circulars named Assalam o Alaikum were published.
    • Work started in Kashmir.
    • In Sindh the efforts were made to work orderly in this session.
    • IJT extol the “Zakat ordinance” by president of Pakistan.
    • Tafheem-ul-Quran fund was raised.

    Important events

    • IJT worked further in Sindh.
    • Bait-ul-maal(Treasury) and library systems were channeled.
    • Courses for members were revised.
    • The responsibility to uplift the active members (arkan) was confined to Markaz.
    • Afghan refugees fund was configured.
    • IJT protested the violence against the Muslims of India and occupied Kashmir, Afghanistan, Al-Quds (Palestine).
    • Lahore proved hospitality towards guests of 12th annual meeting.

    Important events

  • Provincial setup was established in Sindh.
  • Insignia was re-designed.
  • Amended unanimous constitution was put into practice.
  • Course for the active members (arkan) was revised.
  • Department of historiography (shoba tarekh e Jamiat) was established. 
  • 13th annual meeting was held at Lahore.

    Important events

  • Main objective of IJT during the session was  the Islamic Educational System campaign and Women University.
  • Different campaigns were observed on following topics.

    1. Jihad
    2. Islamic Education
    3. Prohibiting nudism (Campaign to "Bar against obscenity")
    • For the first time, to embolden their abilities literary society of Jamiat “halqa-e-ilmo’adab” held essay writing and speeches competitions for member.
    • To promote Islamic fine arts, an exhibition was held.
    • The functional  structure for Universities was set.
    • Qur`anic classes were started
    • The youm-e-tasees (Foundation Day) was celebrated for the first time.
    • 14th annual meeting was held at Lahore.

    Important events

    • Central departments were re-established.
    • Working strategy for the universities, medical colleges and schools were developed.
    • Islamic literature fund was configured.
    • 15th annual meeting was held at Lahore in October 84.

    Important events

    • IJT protested through memorandums.
    • Press conferences, articles, letters towards government etc. against the ordinance banishing Student Unions.
    • Different programs were planned to pave public opinion in favour of this movement.
    • 16th annual meeting was held at Lahore.

    Important events

    • Central office was shifted from Lahore to Karachi for the first time.
    • Members were edified to have clear concepts of moderation and temperateness.
    • IJT supported Islam-loving candidates in general elections.
    • Efforts were made to recognize place and the rights Islam gives to women.
    • Active members of Jamiat gathered for a training camp held on central level.
    • 17th annual meeting was held at Lahore.

    Important events

  • During the session, perceiving the importance to seek knowledge, organized efforts were made to fulfill duties along with cognizing the theme of jehad for aqamat e deen.
  • Special efforts were made for the  approval of the “Shariah Bill”.
  • “Ashrah e tosee e dawat” (10 day campaign to extend the message)was observed. During the campaign special days were celebrated and work shops on central, provincial, divisional and local levels were held.
  • “Talibat masayl muhim”( student’s problem campaign) was observed.
  • Special training camp for active members was arranged.
  • 18th annual meeting was held at Lahore in October 87.

    Important events

  • Efforts were made to develop qualities necessary for being  best preacher of Islam through
    • Upgrading knowledge
    • Moralizing the personality and character.
    • Polish the character in accordance with Qur’aan.
  • Women University campaign was planned.
  • Lending Libraries were organized in universities and medical colleges.
  • Training camps were held at provincial level.
  • It was  tried to convey the message in regional languages.
  • Changing in the process of  membership was made.
  • Article#32 of constitution was revised after the suggestions of central executive committee  and approval of active members(arkan).
  • Afghan mujahedeen fund week was observed.
  • IJT assisted “Shariat Mahaz” concerning Shariat Bill.
  • 19th annual meeting was held at Lahore in October 88.

    Important events

    • The student aid department (Shoba-Imdad-e- talibat) was properly established.
    • It was decided to participate in Union Elections Under the name of “Jamiat” and as  a result a prominent victory in educational institutes all over the Punjab was gained.
    • Rabta e Talbat  campaign was held during the elections.
    • The revised Tabeerat (explanations/details) for the constitution  after editing were sent to active members.
    • 20th annual meeting was held in October 1989 at Lahore.

    Important events

  • Motto for the year was to present the teachings of Islam strenuously and making it a part  of self-grooming.
  • Provincial  set up(nazm) was established in NWFP.
  • Aljamia publications was established.
  • A partial change was made in the process of membership.
  • International Kashmir conference was held.
  • A special set of books was issued during “Iqra Muhim”(literacy campaign).
  • A special bulletin regarding the situation of Sindh “Sada e Mehran”(voice of Sindh) was issued.
  • A book about the story of Jamiat “Hamara Safar”(Our Journey) was published.
  • A change in the constitution about the structure of the markazi shoora(central executive council) was made.

    Important events

    • Jehad-e-Kashmir Week was celebrated.
    • Central department of “Rabita Talibat e Arabia” for the students of religious institutes(Deeni Madaris).
    • A general survey was held to get  view about organization.
    • Selected essays on different topics were compiled and published, named as “Aaina”(Part 1st).

  • Long set planning for four years was presented for the first time.
  • News paper “Aagehi” was published.
  • Central training camp on Qur’aan Fahmi (Interpreting Qur’aan) was held for a week.
  • Qur’aan Arabic course was started.
  • Essay writing competition on “Ta'leem meri zindagi main” (education in my life) was held.
  • Yom-e-Azm-e-Jehad (Jehad Day) was celebrated.
  • Dawat Project was launched. and fifteen thousand “Dawah Sets” were distributed in first round.

    Important events

    • Country wide “Bharti Saqafat Namanzoor” (Boycott Indian Culture) campaign was observed and IJT over strained to enlighten students about Islamic culture.
    • “Taqdees-e -Niswan” campaign was projected to
      1. Confute the arguments of western concept of feminism in contrast with Islamic views ,towards identification of women
      2. To aware students from negative propaganda of international Women conference on feminism.
    • For the first time IJT held the international conference inviting Islamic organizations for women from all over the world.
    • Provincial councils arranged Jehad conferences.
    • Meetings with authorities and press conferences  were held regarding establishment of Women University and its logic according to the constitution of Pakistan was given in addition with the suggestions for it.

    Important events
  • Organized structure was reshaped.
  • Constitution was translated in English.
  • Jehad-e-Kashmir week was celebrated all over the country.
  • Central department of publicity (Nashr-o-Ishaat) held a seminar on challenges of media.
  • At central level workshop regarding betterment and organizing Baat-ul-maal (Treasury) was organized.

    Important events
  • Seerat-un-nabi conferences were held in organized units.
  • On completion of 25 years of Jamiat, special programs were held.
  • Pukar published the Silver Jubilee Number.
  • Seminar was held on Islamic educational system.
  • A video film on Jehad-e-Kashmir was developed specially for organized units to develop the spirit of Jehad among girl students.
  • Meetings with members’ national assembly were arranged regarding the establishment of Women University.

    Important events

  • Islah-e-muaashra (society reform) campaign concerning societal decorum was planned. During this campaign poster stickers and literature were distributed among students in educational institutes on a large scale.
  • Yom e Seerat-un-nabi and Kashmir day were celebrated.
  • Women conferences were arranged in 50 cities.
  • Department of international relations issued Newsletter.
  • Special workshop for central, provincial and local executive committees was arranged.
  • Two special supplements of Pukar “Islah-e- Muashra” and “Nizam-e-Taleem” supplements were published.

    Important events

  • Countrywide Dawat e Qur’aan campaign was observed.
  • Department of publicity made special efforts for the women university through
    1. Press conferences.
    2. Speeches and discussions in the forums of national newspapers.
    3. Meeting with ministers.
    As a result the officials’ statements in the favor of women university.
  • Yom-e-Saqoot-e-Dhaka (Fall of Dhaka) was observed.

    Important events

  • Hafta Jehad Kashmir( Jehad-e-Kashmir week) was celebrated.
  • Ahya-e-Islam( Islamic revivalism) conferences were held.
  • Tafheem-e-Deen (Interpret Islam) camp was arranged on central level.
  • Hayyah-Alal-Falah (turn towards righteousness) campaign was observed purposing to purify the thoughts.
  • 10 day fehm e Qur’aan Courses were arranged on city levels.
  • Non-Islamic points in new academic  policy of government were notified  and department of publicity(shoba nashr o ishaat) projected a well-planed campaign for its reformation. Alternate suggestions were given through national newspapers, officials were sent memorandums, and meetings were held with authorities.  As a result of this effective campaign government announce for Women University.

    Important events

    • “Leadership Training Course” for selected members was held in three cities.
    • IJT completed 30 years of exertion for Islamic revolution. On this occasion “special programmes on large scale were planned in different cities”.
    • Department of International Relations, Publish a special addition Newsletter.
    • Al-Jamia publications published the diary for year 99 and produced different manufactures to reflect our message through.
    • Department of publicity put in order a journalistic course.

    Important events

  • Central office was shifted to Rawalpindi.
  • Countrywide “Islah-e-Muashra” campaign was projected.
  • RTA, held a convocation, inviting girl students of madaris from all over Pakistan.
  • Fehm-ul. Quran classes were started in colleges.
  • A meeting with Federal Minister of education was arrange to highlight the acadamic problems and their solutions.
  • Monthly members meeting were planned in units of cities.
  • Report column and constitution were re-published.
  • Due to extanding field of work, administrative structure of Punjab demanded to reshape, so
    • A deputy Provincial administrator was appointsd.
    • Provincial staff was extended.
  •  Declaration for monthly “Pukar” was obtained.
